Welcome to the online application form for the Daiwa Scholarships in Japanese Studies.
You can leave the application form at any time by clicking on the 'Save and Exit' button at the bottom of the form pages. You will be able to log back in to a partially completed form by entering your email address and password.
You will be asked to elaborate on the following: personal and contact details, educational background and attainment, employment history, your academic plan (500 words maximum), other sources of funding, additional skills, convictions, medical conditions and previous applications. You will also be asked to upload a passport-sized photograph (headshot).
You will also need to submit two academic reference letters, graduation certificate copies (where applicable), transcripts of current courses attended and evidence of your Japanese language proficiency (this can also be a letter) by the application deadline, Thursday 24 January 2019.
Interviews will be held in early March 2019.
Each referee should post (or hand over) the reference letter directly to the applicant inside an envelope with a signature across the seal to ensure confidentiality. Please collate the reference letters before posting them to the Scholarship Officer at the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation.
We are unable to chase up references on behalf of applicants so by collating them yourself you will be able to confirm that all three reference letters have been written.
