Welcome to the online application form for the Daiwa Scholarships in Japanese Studies.
You can leave the application form at any time by clicking on the 'Save and Exit' button at the bottom of the form pages. You will be able to log back in to a partially completed form by entering your email address and password.
You will be asked to elaborate on the following: personal and contact details, educational background and attainment, employment history, your academic plan (500 words maximum), other sources of funding, additional skills, convictions, medical conditions and previous applications. You will also be asked to upload a passport-sized photograph (headshot).
The Daiwa Securities Group has given us additional support for the Daiwa Scholarships in Japanese Studies (DSJS) programme. As a condition of its support, it has requested that DSJS applicants provide a short paragraph (up to around 250 words) on how their proposed research topic relates to the Sustainable Development Goals. This is asked on the application form.
You will also need to submit two academic reference letters, graduation certificate copies (where applicable), transcripts of current courses attended and evidence of your Japanese language proficiency (this can also be a letter) by the application deadline, Thursday 30 January 2020. Interviews will be held in early March 2020.
